Gnome Sweet Garden Gnome

I have a slight obsession with gnomes.

Don’t judge me!

Vintage or Target knockoffs – it really doesn’t matter.

Scored this vintage pipe smoking fella at a rummage sale – broken hat and all.

2 Target knockoffs.  They’re so faded – unlike the vintage guys who hold up much better in the sun.

Yes, this is number 3 … I told you not to judge!

This poor vintage shell of a gnome sits hunched on his mushroom in deep thought.

Ok – who thinks I need a gnome intervention?

  1. Kelly, those gnomes are so adorable! My husband puts up with a lot of the things I do with the house, but lawn gnomes are where he draws the line. Too bad – I’d love to have some cute vintage ones like yours!

  2. hahahahah, only if I get a paint intervention first!! I’m not a big fan of gnomes myself, but I kind of like the faded, beat up looking ones you have. Especially the guy that looks like he’s carrying his lunch in his beard. Love it!

  3. Oh, these are too funny and cute 🙂 🙂 There was a character on the tv show Gilmore Girls (Babette) who had garden gnomes…and there’s the movie “Gnomea and Juliet”. I haven’t seen that yet…but your gnomes made me think of that 🙂 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California,Heather 🙂 🙂 🙂

  4. Gnomes? I am not sure we can still be friends…..As long as you don’t start a whole army of them on your lawn and intersperse them with Pink Flamingos, we’re good.

They do look like they add some whimsy to your garden!

    1. Karen,
Guess you didn’t notice the little bit of pink in one of the pics – yes, it’s the rear of one of my two plastic pink flamingos!!!
Sorry that we can’t be BFF’s now! Maybe the gnomes will take down those birds!

  5. Wow, in this post they don’t seem so bad, but gnomes normally creep me out. There’s something weird about a small guy with a big hat just staring me down, I can’t handle the pressure.
    But yours are cute….really. 🙂

  6. Kelly…..seriously. I am so glad you posted these pictures of gnomes. You see, I love gnomes. They are so inspiring and cute and for some reason remind me of pink flamingos 🙂

    Have an awesome day!

  7. i love the gnomes! they make me so happy! emmy has little ones in her room, and i have been wanting some bigger ones for our yard. the kids love them, too. my husband thinks i am a little off, but whatever. gnomes make me happy.

  8. I probably shouldn’t share the story about how my college roommate and her friends used to steal garden gnomes and flamingos for fun….

… and then stage them (and I’m thinking it may have been a bit inappropriate) on other people’s lawns …

    🙂

  9. I got my first gnome this spring as a gift. He’s in my garden now wearing our favorite teams uniform. haha! I don’t know yet if I think they’re scary looking or just fun…maybe a little of both! 🙂 It was fun seeing yours! Thanks so much for sharing at the Rock N Share!
